  3. The <R> Read Combined Mesage Areas simply allows you to read from all the
  4. message areas that you have previously told the BBS that you want to read.
  5. This saves you the hassel of having to read the General area then switch
  6. to the Jokes area then to the Adult area etc. etc. etc.

  8. There are over 40 message areas on this BBS with more than 6,000 active
  9. messages!  If you select the <R> Read combined Message Areas when you
  10. log on, you would probably have a thousand or so new messages to read.
  11. Many of these message areas probably won't be of any interest to you.
  12. You can select the <#> Select Combined Messages Areas command to set 
  13. up the message areas that you would like to read. These settings are 
  14. saved as your personal default settings and are loaded into the database 
  15. when you log back on.

  17. In simple terms, if you don't want to read messages about Lotus 123, you can
  18. turn that particular message area off and read all the others. This will
  19. prevent you from sifting through a couple hundred messages that you don't 
  20. really care about and read only the areas that you want.
